Looking At Auras

Living things emanate light around their forms which can be detected by Kirlian photography. Plant auras fade when they are cut or when they are deprived of water. Humans, too, have auras. Around the heads and bodies of everyone you meet can be perceived a white energy source, several inches from and following our outlines. This white field of light is diffused into rainbow colours of varying brightness and intensity. The colours and clarity change according to the state of our health, our inner harmony and our current preoccupations.

In Your True Colours

Auras can be seen in the mind’s eye, although some people see them physically. Neither method is better than the other, and absolutely anyone can learn to tune in to their own and other people’s auric energies. Non-verbal signals are a useful clue in any interaction, but auras show the deeper emotions that can be masked on even a non-verbal level by someone who is very controlled.

Generally there are one or two predominant colours in the aura at any given time and if these are clear and bright, you know communication is going to be easy and you can be open. If the aura of the person you are with is dark or murky, you know it is not a time for confrontation or making demands. What is more, the predominant colour/colours can tell you their dominant concerns or insecurities

Studying Your Aura

It can be tricky to get into the right frame of mind to be able to see your aura, because we are trained to only ‘see’ the physical level of things from a very young age.

Look in the mirror in sunlight or with a candle or soft lighting behind you. Don’t worry if you don’t see anything except your reflection to begin with. Close your eyes and let the picture of the rainbow emerge around your head, as this is the easiest place to see it. Now open your eyes and see what colours are left in the after-image. That is your predominant aura at present.

Try at regular intervals and in different emotional states, such as after an argument, after a major success, when you are tired, happy, sad, etc. Note down the colours each time you do this. Try this for a few weeks to get an idea of your personal pattern.

We all tend to have a root aura colour that reflects how we deal with the world on a day-to-day basis. However, most people also have a secondary colour, and the relationships between these two can give a very clear overview of personality and outlook.
